Kjetil Øpstad

Kjetil is a Customs Advisor and is associated with the VAT, Customs and World Trade department of the Law firm. Kjetil works mainly with issues related to import/export of goods, customs/excise duties and import-VAT. He is an educated Customs officer and Customs auditor.

As Special Audit Enforcement Officer, Kjetil has audited a large number of import-, export- and excise dutiable businesses. He has also been working for the Directorate of Norwegian Customs and Excise on a more strategic level with developing better control/auditing methods, as well as intelligence methods. Kjetil has wide and varied control experience, and this has given him a good knowledge of issues related to import/export procedures, Classification of Goods, Rules of Origin, Customs Valuation, import VAT, Excise Duties, etc. Kjetil primarily assists clients within the segments Foodstuffs, Consumer Goods/Services, Textile, Aviation, Fuel, Oil & Gas with advice and compliance with obligations and regulations related to import/export of goods and excise duties.
